David Freiberg of Quicksilver Messenger Service and Jefferson Starship Interview Show Part 2 David Freiberg was a member of two out of the four (arguably) most notable psychedelic '60s San Francisco bands, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Jefferson Airplane. Quicksilver formed in 1965 and put out a run of five albums with Freiberg from 1968-1970, their big hit being "Fresh Air," written by later member Dino Valente (best known for his song "Get Together"). Freiberg moved on to join Jefferson Airplane during their last tour in 1972 after working with several Airplane members on other projects. When Jefferson Starship formed out of the ashes of the Airplane in 1974, David was with them for all the '70s hits ("Miracles," "Count on Me," "With Your Love") and into the '80s, bailing before the much vilified (for good reason) "We Built This City." He is still helming Jefferson Starship as the last remaining original member (Paul Kantner having passed in 2016). This is Part Two of two Freiberg interview shows and features the music of Jefferson Starship.
