Graham Bond, born in Oct of 1937 was an important figure of early British R&B. He briefly joined 'Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated', before forming his own group in 1963. He wrote a number of English hits mostly for Adam Faith {'It's Alright' - Faith's only US hit} and Sandy Shaw {'Long Live Love', an English #1 hit}, as well as himself and Suzie Quatro. Drummer Paul Hancox was born in 1950, replacing Ric ROTHwell in 1967. The Mindbenders included future 10CC members Graham Gouldman (Songwriter - 'For Your Love', 'Heart Full Of Soul', 'Bus Stop', 'I'm Not In Love', he also played bass) and Eric Stewart (guitar, vocals) / This was their last of 10 English chart singles, as 'Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders', they became 'The Mindbenders', after lead singer Fontana went solo in the fall of 1965.

Born as "William George Perks Jr" in Oct 1936, Wyman succeded Dick Taylor (founder - Pretty Things) as bass player on Dec 7, 1962. He was the unofficial chronicler of The Rolling Stones history; he complied the original version of 'Metamorhposis', called 'Black Box'. He became an amateur archaeologist, and enjoys metal detecting for ancient artifacts. Jazz tenor sax great Pharoah Sanders {born 'FarrELL Sanders'} died September 24th, at age 81. As a teenager, he played blues gigs around Little Rock, AK, backing Bobby "Blue" Bland and Junior Parker. He played a prominent role in the development of Free Jazz and Spiritual Jazz, first as a member of John Coltrane's groups in the mid-1960s, then in his solo work, with pianist Lonnie Liston Smith from 1969 - 1971.
Engineer, arranger, producer Fred Catero died Oct 6th, at age 80. He worked on hundreds of recordings, many on Columbia (also WB, Reprise, Asylum and San Fransisco Records) and its family of labels. He worked with many artists, including including Bob Dylan, Tower of Power, Malo, Sly And The Family Stone, Labelle, Santana, Linda Ronstadt, Chicago and The Pointer Sisters. // This group was formed in Chapel Hill, NC in 1964.
Jody Miller died Oct 6th, at age 80. She started in the early 1960s as a folk/pop singer, singing in the LA area and appearing on Tom Paxton's TV series. She had 30 total chart singles, the biggest being 'Queen of the House', the answer song to 'King Of The Road'. She was more successful in the Country market starting in 1970, when she worked with producer Billy Sherrill, a fan of hers.
