The song is the opening track of their debut album, The Doors (1967), John Densmore appreciated the new bossa nova craze coming from Brazil at the time, and decided to use it in the song.[6] The track's musical style features influences from mambo music. The bass line, similar to a typical bass line used in bossa nova, continues almost all of the way through the song. Lindsay Planer of AllMusic writes of Morrison's lyrics _immediately...ndicate that something is different ... _Break on Through_ is structured like a love song. However, Morrison's phraseology cleverly juxtaposes romantic lyrics such as _I found an island in your arms/A country in your eyes_ with the almost sinister lines _arms that chain/Eyes that lie._

Julia Perry writes: “Homunculus, C.F., For Ten Percussionists was composed in Akron, Ohio, during the summer of 1960 in my apartment situated on the top floor of my father's (physician and surgeon) office, equipped with all the necessary facilities except a piano. These clinical surroundings evoked memories of the medieval laboratory where Wagner, youthful apprentice to Faust, made a successful alchemy experiment, fashioning and bringing to life a creature he called homunculus. Having selected percussion instruments for my formulae, then maneuvering and distilling them by means of the Chord of the Fifteenth (C.F.), this musical test tube baby was brought to life. - liner notes
This is the debut album for this Korean underground singer, featuring disarming compositions rendered in his highly emotional, quavering voice. Kim was just 27 years young when his ‘70s-tinged folk music became a “thing” in Korea’s underground university folk rock scene. However, it was his idiosyncratic creativity that always left him feeling like living on an island to himself. Here you could hear influences by the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, Fred Neil, and the American roots scene playing a role in his world-building. Yet, on this particular orignal tune, you could feel in his breathtaking, multi-layered blues that there was more to him than just affecting some other people’s seeds. - fondsound.com

A huge crowd descended on the Isle of Wight at the last of the three original festivals, in 1970; The Guinness Book of Records estimated the total attendance at between 600,000 and 700,000 people.[2] The Doors hit the stage at two o'clock in the morning on August 30, 1970. Their set was particularly dark due to lead singer Jim Morrison's unwillingness of film spotlights to be used.[3] Much of the recording sees the group bathed in a single red spotlight. Jerry Hopkins in his biography of the band, No One Here Gets Out Alive, commented on the cold wind and poor weather that hampered the performance. Hanging over Morrison was his trial for lewd and lascivious behavior from a March 1, 1969, concert in Miami. He died in July. - wiki

Flute & Voice is a German duo comprised of Hans Reffert (Flute) and Hans Brandeis (Voice), both prodigious world musicians and music academics ( Brandeis is an ethnomusicologist). They founded their duo Flute & Voice in spring 1970. The same year they recorded their first album “Imaginations of Light”, in 1973 they recorded a second album “Hallo Rabbit” which was not published then, because it was not “commercial” enough. They also played live with an array of guest musicians, finally Hans Brandeis moved to Berlin in 1974 and Flute & Voice stopped playing in 1975. “Imaginations of Light” and “Hallo Rabbit” were released together on compact disc in 1995. In 1996, the demo tapes from 1974 and 1975 were re-recorded and released on a compact disc entitled _Drachenlieder._
