... ALSO ... This also chronicles the forgotten history of Motown Records; from 1970 to 1973, Motown’s "Black Power" subsidiary label, Black Forum, released politically charged albums by Stokely Carmichael, Amiri Baraka, Langston Hughes, Bill Cosby & Ossie Davis, and many others. / Click on Link above, to view this compilation.

* - in the film 'The Hurricane', which has one of the greatest "Special Effects" scenes of all time (decades pre-CGI) as its climax - LsA / Click on Link above, left, to view the incredible/ relentless special effects on the climactic "hurricane sequence" of this overlooked film (for you impatient types - it starts about 2:15 in). // One Youtube comment sums it up: "Thanks for posting this incredible sequence. It really is the one to show people who assume everything before CGI was primitive and cheesy. When done by masters, these effects are more convincing than CGI, imo. ... ... Kudos to the fantastic craftspeople who created this sequence, which is still jaw-dropping 80+ years after its creation."
Group is from New York City, NY; their name was taken from the "Tibetan Book Of The Dead" / * - Although several unreleased (at the time) recordings were released by Sundazed records later, in 1993 / Click on Link above/ left, to view the original single
The Ducks (formerly known as the Jeff Blackburn Band) were a short-lived American hard rock supergroup formed in the summer of 1977 by singer-songwriter Jeff Blackburn. The band included Bob Mosley (an original member of Moby Grape), Neil Young, and drummer Johnny Craviotto. The band played a series of impromptu bar gigs around the Santa Cruz area in 1977. The set lists were very democratic, with each member of the band taking the lead in turn. // This will be their first official release - click on the Link above, left to read about this release
Their second #1 hit in the UK / * Wilson has stated that this is the BEST song collboration that he and Love had. Love: "He starts pounding at the piano, I came up with some words and we got a chorus together, basically a bunch of doo-wop-inspired harmonies - we created thsat whole song in 15 minutes."
In 1994, this album was voted # THREE in Colin Larkin's "All Time Top 1000 Albums", a book which surveyed the general public alongside hundreds of critics, musicians, record producers, songwriters, radio broadcasters, and music enthusiasts.
* - But first recorded in 1939 by The Ray Noble Orchestra; later used in the 1980s as the theme song of the TV series "Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer" (1984 - 1987), with Bud Shsank on alto sax // Click on Link above, left, to view the original album.
